Ingredients
- 4 large apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, and sliced
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- Vanilla ice cream, for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, toss apple slices with granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until evenly coated. Spread mixture in the prepared baking dish.
- In another bowl, combine flour, oats, and brown sugar. Add cold cubed butter and use your fingers or a pastry cutter to mix until crumbly.
- Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the apples. Drizzle caramel sauce over the top.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, until topping is golden brown and apples are tender. Let cool slightly before serving.
- Serve warm, optionally topped with vanilla ice cream.
