Description
A quick and flavorful pasta dish featuring spaghetti tossed with sautéed garlic and fresh spinach, finished with a touch of olive oil and Parmesan cheese.
Ingredients
- 12 ounces spaghetti
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 10 ounces fresh spinach, stems removed
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Cook spaghetti in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain.
- While pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook until garlic is fragrant and lightly golden, about 1-2 minutes. Be careful not to burn.
- Add spinach to the skillet and cook until wilted, about 2-3 minutes. Season with salt and black pepper.
- Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet with the spinach mixture. Toss well to combine, adding reserved pasta water as needed to loosen the sauce.
- Remove from heat and stir in Parmesan cheese, if desired. Serve immediately.
