Description

Delightful mini meatballs infused with Mediterranean flavors, served with a cool and creamy tzatziki sauce for a perfect appetizer or party snack.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground lamb or beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cucumber, grated and squeezed dry
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Fresh parsley for garnish


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, red onion, garlic, egg, oregano, cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
  3. Roll mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 12-15 minutes until browned and cooked through, then let cool slightly.
  5. For tzatziki, mix Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, lemon juice, dill, and olive oil in a bowl. Season with salt.
  6. Serve meatballs with tzatziki and garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste. For a lighter version, use ground turkey or chicken.
