Description

Juicy, herb-packed meatballs with a tangy yogurt sauce, perfect for appetizers or a light meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground lamb or beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cucumber, grated and drained
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tbsp olive oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, egg, red onion, garlic, oregano, cumin, feta, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into small, bite-sized meatballs (about 1 inch in diameter).
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook meatballs for 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked through.
  4. For the tzatziki, mix Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, lemon juice, dill, and a pinch of salt in a bowl. Chill until ready to serve.
  5. Serve meatballs warm with tzatziki sauce on the side for dipping.
