Description

A classic Southern dessert with a unique, sweet, and nutty filling made from pecans, coconut, and graham cracker crumbs, baked in a flaky pie crust.

Ingredients

  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup shredded sweetened coconut
  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the unbaked pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish and set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine chopped pecans, shredded coconut, graham cracker crumbs, and granulated sugar. Stir until well mixed.
  3. Add melted butter, beaten eggs, vanilla extract, and salt to the dry ingredients. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  4. Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust, spreading it evenly.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is set. Let cool completely before serving.
