Description

A juicy grilled flank steak topped with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, basil, and a balsamic reduction glaze.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs flank steak
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella, sliced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Rub mixture all over the flank steak and let marinate at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, make the balsamic reduction: In a small saucepan, bring balsamic vinegar and honey to a simmer over medium heat. Cook until thickened and reduced by half (about 8 minutes), stirring occasionally. Set aside to cool.
  3. Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Grill flank steak for 5-7 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Let rest for 5 minutes.
  4. Thinly slice the flank steak against the grain. Arrange slices on a serving platter.
  5. Top with fresh mozzarella slices, cherry tomato halves, and fresh basil leaves.
  6. Drizzle balsamic reduction over the top and serve immediately.
