Description

A festive and elegant appetizer featuring toasted baguette slices topped with melted brie, tangy cranberry sauce, crunchy walnuts, and a drizzle of spicy hot honey.

Ingredients

  • 1 baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch thick pieces
  • 8 oz brie cheese, rind removed and sliced
  • 1/2 cup cranberry sauce (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, roughly chopped and toasted
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Fresh thyme leaves for garnish
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet, brush lightly with olive oil, and toast for 8-10 minutes until golden and crisp.
  2. While toasting, combine honey and red pepper flakes in a small saucepan over low heat. Warm for 3-4 minutes until fragrant, then remove from heat to infuse.
  3. Top each toasted crostini with a slice of brie. Return to oven for 3-4 minutes until brie is soft and slightly melted.
  4. Remove from oven and spoon a small amount of cranberry sauce over each brie slice. Sprinkle with toasted walnuts.
  5. Drizzle each crostini with hot honey, garnish with fresh thyme, and season with a pinch of salt and black pepper. Serve immediately.
