Description
A festive appetizer featuring creamy melted Brie on toasted baguette slices, topped with tangy cranberry sauce, crunchy walnuts, and a drizzle of spicy hot honey. Perfect for holiday gatherings or any celebration.
Ingredients
- 1 French baguette, cut into 1/2-inch slices
- 8 oz Brie wheel, rind removed and cut into 1/2-inch pieces
- 1 cup cranberry sauce (homemade or store-bought)
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts, toasted
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (or to taste)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Fresh rosemary sprigs for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Arrange baguette slices on the prepared baking sheet. Brush each slice lightly with olive oil. Bake for 5-7 minutes, until lightly toasted.
- Remove from oven and place a piece of Brie on each toast. Return to oven and bake for 3-5 minutes, until Brie is melted and gooey.
- While Brie melts, make the hot honey: In a small saucepan over low heat, combine honey and red pepper flakes. Warm for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat.
- Remove toasts from oven. Top each with a spoonful of cranberry sauce and a sprinkle of toasted walnuts.
- Drizzle hot honey over the crostini. Garnish with fresh rosemary if desired. Serve warm.
Notes
You can customize the seasonings to taste. For a milder kick, reduce red pepper flakes. Use a good quality Brie for best flavor. To toast walnuts, spread on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F for 5-7 minutes.
