Description
A delicious and aromatic garlic bread topped with fresh tomato and basil, perfect as an appetizer or side dish.
Ingredients
- 1 loaf French bread (or baguette)
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 large tomatoes, sliced
- ¼ cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the bread in half lengthwise and place on a baking sheet.
- In a small bowl, mix softened butter with minced garlic. Spread the garlic butter evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
- Layer tomato slices on top of the buttered bread. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Top with chopped basil and shredded mozzarella cheese. Drizzle olive oil over the top.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly and edges are golden. Slice and serve warm.
Notes
You can customize the seasonings to taste. Add red pepper flakes for heat or use fresh oregano instead of basil.
