Description
A flavorful and aromatic garlic bread topped with juicy tomatoes and fresh basil, perfect as a side or appetizer.
Ingredients
- 1 French baguette or ciabatta loaf
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 large tomatoes, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, mix softened butter, minced garlic, chopped basil, oregano, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Slice the baguette in half lengthwise and place cut side up on the prepared baking sheet. Spread the butter mixture evenly over both halves.
- Layer tomato slices over the buttered bread. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses on top.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until the bread is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from oven, let cool slightly, then slice into pieces and serve warm.
Notes
You can customize the seasonings to taste. For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or swap mozzarella for provolone.
