Description

A simple, no-knead sourdough bread recipe perfect for beginners, yielding a crusty, flavorful artisan loaf with minimal effort.


Ingredients

  • 500g bread flour
  • 350g water
  • 100g active sourdough starter
  • 10g salt
  • Rice flour for dusting (optional)


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the bread flour, water, and sourdough starter until no dry flour remains. Cover and let rest for 30 minutes.
  2. Add the salt and mix until fully incorporated. Stretch and fold the dough every 30 minutes for 2 hours, then let it rise at room temperature for 8-12 hours until doubled in size.
  3. Shape the dough into a round loaf, place it seam-side up in a floured banneton or bowl, and refrigerate for 1-2 hours. Preheat a Dutch oven at 450°F (230°C) for 30 minutes. Bake covered for 20 minutes, then uncovered for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
