Description

Pan-seared scallops with a bright and zesty lime cilantro sauce, perfect for a quick yet elegant dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb large sea scallops, patted dry
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Lime wedges for garnish


Instructions

  1. Season scallops with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  3. Add scallops to the skillet in a single layer, searing for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and just cooked through. Remove scallops and set aside.
  4. Reduce heat to medium, add butter and garlic to the skillet, and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Stir in lime juice, honey, and cilantro, and let the sauce simmer for 1-2 minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. Return scallops to the skillet, tossing gently to coat with the sauce. Serve immediately with lime wedges.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste. For extra heat, add a pinch of red pepper flakes with the garlic.
