Flaky puff pastry squares filled with a savory mixture of spinach, creamy feta, and aromatic herbs, baked until golden for a perfect appetizer or snack.
Ingredients
- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
- 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
- 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and spinach, cooking until spinach wilts, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.
- In a bowl, mix the cooled spinach, feta cheese, cream cheese, dill, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Cut into 12 equal squares.
- Place a spoonful of the spinach-feta mixture in the center of each square. Fold the corners over the filling, pressing gently to seal.
- Arrange the bites on the prepared baking sheet. Brush each with beaten egg wash.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown. Serve warm.
