Description

Flaky puff pastry squares filled with a savory mixture of spinach, creamy feta, and aromatic herbs, baked until golden for a perfect appetizer or snack.


Ingredients

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and spinach, cooking until spinach wilts, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.
  3. In a bowl, mix the cooled spinach, feta cheese, cream cheese, dill, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  4. Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Cut into 12 equal squares.
  5. Place a spoonful of the spinach-feta mixture in the center of each square. Fold the corners over the filling, pressing gently to seal.
  6. Arrange the bites on the prepared baking sheet. Brush each with beaten egg wash.
  7. Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown. Serve warm.
