Description

Flaky puff pastry filled with a creamy spinach and feta mixture, baked until golden brown for a delicious and easy appetizer.


Ingredients

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 5 ounces fresh spinach, chopped
  • 4 ounces feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté onion until soft, about 3 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Add spinach to the skillet and cook until wilted, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  4. In a bowl, combine the spinach mixture, feta cheese, cream cheese, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  5. Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Cut into 12 equal squares.
  6. Place a spoonful of the spinach-feta mixture in the center of each square. Fold the corners over the filling and pinch to seal.
  7. Arrange bites on the prepared baking sheet. Brush tops with beaten egg wash.
  8. Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown. Serve warm.
