Description
A super moist cake filled with pretty pastel pokes and topped with fluffy frosting—bright, fun, and guaranteed to steal the show at any gathering.
Ingredients
- 1 box white cake mix (plus ingredients listed on box: eggs, oil, water)
- 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Gel food coloring in pastel shades (pink, blue, yellow, green)
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- Sprinkles for decoration (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare and bake the white cake mix according to package directions in a 9×13-inch pan. Let cool completely.
- In a small bowl, whisk together sweetened condensed milk, whole milk, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Divide mixture into small cups and tint each with a different pastel food coloring.
- Use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the cooled cake. Slowly pour each colored milk mixture over the cake, filling the holes and allowing it to soak in.
- For the frosting, beat softened butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, heavy cream, and 1 tablespoon vanilla extract, beating until light and fluffy.
- Spread frosting evenly over the cake. Decorate with sprinkles if desired. Chill for 1 hour before serving to set the pokes and frosting.
