Description

A super moist cake filled with pretty pastel pokes and topped with fluffy frosting—bright, fun, and guaranteed to steal the show at any gathering.

Ingredients

  • 1 box white cake mix (plus ingredients listed on box: eggs, oil, water)
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Gel food coloring in pastel shades (pink, blue, yellow, green)
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • Sprinkles for decoration (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare and bake the white cake mix according to package directions in a 9×13-inch pan. Let cool completely.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together sweetened condensed milk, whole milk, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Divide mixture into small cups and tint each with a different pastel food coloring.
  3. Use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the cooled cake. Slowly pour each colored milk mixture over the cake, filling the holes and allowing it to soak in.
  4. For the frosting, beat softened butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, heavy cream, and 1 tablespoon vanilla extract, beating until light and fluffy.
  5. Spread frosting evenly over the cake. Decorate with sprinkles if desired. Chill for 1 hour before serving to set the pokes and frosting.
