Description
A delightful fusion of savory beef, creamy burrata, and spicy-sweet chili honey, all wrapped in a crispy flatbread. Perfect for a satisfying meal with Mediterranean flair.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 large flatbreads (or tortillas)
- 8 oz burrata cheese, torn into pieces
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 tablespoon red chili flakes (adjust to taste)
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1/4 cup sliced red onion
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, torn
- 1/4 cup Kalamata olives, halved (optional)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and cumin. Mix well.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned beef and cook until browned and crispy, breaking it into small pieces. Drain excess fat and set aside.
- In a small saucepan, combine the heavy cream and burrata pieces. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until the cheese melts and forms a smooth sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat.
- In a separate small bowl, mix the honey, red chili flakes, and apple cider vinegar to create the chili honey. Set aside.
- To assemble, lay a flatbread on a clean surface. Spread a generous amount of burrata cream over the center. Top with cooked beef, cherry tomatoes, red onion, basil, and olives if using.
- Fold the sides of the flatbread over the filling, then roll tightly to form a wrap. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
- Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Place the wraps seam-side down and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until golden and crispy. Serve immediately drizzled with chili honey.
Notes
You can customize the seasonings to taste. Adjust the chili flakes for more or less heat. For a vegetarian version, substitute beef with roasted vegetables or chickpeas.
