Description

A decadent fusion dessert combining creamy cheesecake with the nutty, honey-soaked layers of baklava, topped with crunchy pistachios.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup shelled pistachios, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 sheet frozen phyllo dough, thawed
  • Cooking spray or extra butter for greasing


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking pan with cooking spray or butter.
  2. In a bowl, mix chopped pistachios, honey, melted butter, cinnamon, and cardamom. Set aside.
  3. In another bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla until smooth and creamy.
  4. Layer half the phyllo dough in the pan, brushing lightly with melted butter between sheets. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the phyllo.
  5. Sprinkle the pistachio-honey mixture over the cream cheese layer, then top with remaining phyllo sheets, brushing with butter between each.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden and set. Let cool completely before cutting into bars.
