Description
A stunning appetizer board featuring creamy feta cheese baked until warm, drizzled with spicy hot honey, and topped with crunchy crispy fried onions. Served with warm pita and fresh vegetables for dipping.
Ingredients
- 1 block (8 oz) feta cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup hot honey
- 1/2 cup crispy fried onions (store-bought or homemade)
- Fresh pita bread, cut into wedges
- Cucumber sticks
- Cherry tomatoes
- Kalamata olives
- Fresh mint leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Place feta block in a small oven-safe dish or on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Drizzle olive oil over feta and sprinkle with oregano and black pepper.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, until feta is soft and slightly golden on edges.
- While feta bakes, warm the hot honey in a small saucepan or microwave until runny.
- Remove feta from oven and carefully transfer to a serving board or platter.
- Drizzle warm hot honey over the feta and top generously with crispy fried onions.
- Arrange pita wedges, cucumber sticks, cherry tomatoes, olives, and mint leaves around the board.
- Serve immediately while feta is warm.
Notes
You can customize the seasonings to taste; add red pepper flakes for extra heat. Crispy fried onions can be found in the salad topping aisle or made fresh.
