Description

Tender, seasoned chicken breast strips wrapped in warm pita with creamy hummus, crisp vegetables, and a tangy tzatziki-style sauce. A fresh Mediterranean favorite that’s perfect for a quick dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into thin strips
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 large pita wraps (or flatbreads)
  • 1/2 cup hummus
  • 1 cup shredded romaine lettuce
  • 1 medium tomato, diced
  • 1/2 cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon fresh dill, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine chicken strips with olive oil, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat evenly.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden and cooked through. Remove from heat.
  3. In a small bowl, mix Greek yogurt, lemon juice, and fresh dill to make a quick sauce.
  4. Warm the pita wraps in a dry skillet or microwave for 30 seconds to soften.
  5. Spread 2 tablespoons of hummus on each pita. Top with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, red onion, and chicken strips.
  6. Drizzle with the yogurt-dill sauce and sprinkle with feta cheese. Fold the wraps tightly and serve.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste. Add kalamata olives or roasted red peppers for extra Mediterranean flair. For a low-carb option, serve in lettuce cups instead of pita.
