Ingredients
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried dill
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- For the tzatziki: 1 cup Greek yogurt
- 1/2 cucumber, grated and squeezed dry
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, breadcrumbs, red onion, garlic, egg, oregano, dill, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into 1.5-inch meatballs and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Drizzle meatballs with olive oil and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature reaches 165°F).
- While meatballs bake, prepare the tzatziki: In a medium bowl, combine Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, garlic, fresh dill, lemon juice, and salt. Stir well and refrigerate until serving.
- Serve meatballs warm with tzatziki sauce on the side.
Notes
You can customize the seasonings to taste. For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free breadcrumbs. The tzatziki can be made a day ahead for better flavor.
