Description

Tender seasoned beef wrapped in warm pita with fresh vegetables, creamy roasted garlic feta sauce, and a drizzle of spicy hot honey.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 4 large pita breads
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cucumber, sliced
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
  • For the roasted garlic feta sauce:
  • 1 head garlic, roasted
  • 4 oz feta cheese
  • 1/4 cup Greek yogurt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • For the hot honey:
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine beef, olive oil, red wine vinegar, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper. Marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. While beef marinates, make the roasted garlic feta sauce: squeeze roasted garlic cloves into a blender. Add feta, Greek yogurt, olive oil, and lemon juice. Blend until smooth. Set aside.
  3. Make the hot honey: In a small saucepan over low heat, warm honey and red pepper flakes for 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  4. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook beef slices for 2-3 minutes per side until browned and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  5. Warm pita breads in the skillet for about 30 seconds per side.
  6. To assemble, spread roasted garlic feta sauce on each pita. Top with beef, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, and red onion. Drizzle with hot honey.
  7. Roll up the pitas and serve immediately.
