Description
Juicy beef meatballs infused with Mediterranean spices, served with a rich and tangy tzatziki sauce made with sun-dried tomatoes.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1/2 cup chopped sun-dried tomatoes (oil-packed, drained)
- 1/2 cup grated cucumber (drained)
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, egg, oregano, cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
- Form mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place on a baking sheet. Refrigerate for 15 minutes.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook meatballs in batches until browned on all sides and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes. Set aside.
- For the tzatziki: In a medium bowl, mix Greek yogurt, sun-dried tomatoes, grated cucumber, lemon juice, and dill. Stir well and season with salt to taste.
- Serve meatballs with a generous dollop of tzatziki sauce.
