Description
Crispy, golden puff pastry rolls filled with creamy feta cheese, baked to perfection and drizzled with a sweet and tangy cranberry honey sauce. An elegant appetizer or snack that combines savory and sweet flavors.
Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 6 ounces feta cheese, crumbled
- 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix crumbled feta, cream cheese, dill, and black pepper until well combined.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry sheet into a 12×12 inch square. Cut into 4 equal rectangles.
- Place a quarter of the feta mixture along one long edge of each rectangle. Roll up tightly, tucking in the sides, and place seam-side down on the baking sheet.
- Brush each roll with beaten egg wash. Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden and puffed.
- While rolls bake, make the cranberry honey: In a small saucepan, combine honey, cranberries, and water. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until cranberries soften and sauce thickens slightly (about 5-7 minutes). Remove from heat and stir in melted butter.
- Remove rolls from oven and let cool slightly. Drizzle or spoon the cranberry honey over the warm rolls. Serve immediately.
Notes
You can customize the seasonings to taste. For a spicier version, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the feta mixture. Cranberry honey can be made ahead and gently reheated.
