Description

A quick and indulgent pasta dish featuring succulent shrimp bathed in a rich garlic butter sauce, tossed with al dente spaghetti for a satisfying weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz spaghetti
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine or chicken broth
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Grated Parmesan cheese for serving

Instructions

  1. Cook spaghetti according to package directions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, then drain.
  2. While pasta cooks, season shrimp with salt and pepper.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tbsp butter. Add shrimp and cook 2-3 minutes per side until pink. Remove and set aside.
  4. Add remaining butter to skillet. Sauté garlic and red pepper flakes for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Pour in wine or broth and lemon juice, scraping up any browned bits. Simmer 1-2 minutes.
  6. Return shrimp to skillet, add cooked spaghetti, and toss to coat. Add reserved pasta water a little at a time if needed for consistency.
  7. Stir in parsley and serve immediately with Parmesan cheese.
