Description
Tender sea scallops baked in a rich garlic butter sauce with a crispy golden breadcrumb topping. Simple yet elegant, this dish is perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or a special occasion.
Ingredients
- 1 lb sea scallops, patted dry
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- Lemon wedges for serving
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Lightly grease a baking dish or cast iron skillet.
- In a small bowl, mix melted butter and minced garlic. Place scallops in the baking dish in a single layer and pour garlic butter over them.
- In another bowl, combine panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan, parsley, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Sprinkle mixture evenly over scallops.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, until scallops are opaque and topping is golden brown. Serve immediately with lemon wedges.
Notes
For extra crunch, broil the scallops for 1-2 minutes after baking. Do not overcook scallops or they will become tough.
