Description

Tender sea scallops baked in a rich garlic butter sauce with a crispy golden breadcrumb topping. Simple yet elegant, this dish is perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or a special occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb sea scallops, patted dry
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Lightly grease a baking dish or cast iron skillet.
  2. In a small bowl, mix melted butter and minced garlic. Place scallops in the baking dish in a single layer and pour garlic butter over them.
  3. In another bowl, combine panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan, parsley, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Sprinkle mixture evenly over scallops.
  4. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until scallops are opaque and topping is golden brown. Serve immediately with lemon wedges.

Notes

For extra crunch, broil the scallops for 1-2 minutes after baking. Do not overcook scallops or they will become tough.
