Description

A delightful appetizer featuring buttery puff pastry topped with creamy brie, tart cranberries, and crunchy toasted walnuts. Perfect for holiday gatherings or elegant parties.


Ingredients

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 8 oz Brie cheese, rind removed and sliced into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, coarsely chopped
  • 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional, for drizzling)
  • Fresh rosemary or thyme for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry sheet to a 10×10-inch square. Transfer to the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Arrange Brie slices evenly over the pastry, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges. Sprinkle dried cranberries and chopped walnuts over the brie.
  4. Fold the edges of the pastry inward to create a slight rim. Brush the folded edges with beaten egg wash for a golden finish.
  5. Bake for 18-20 minutes until the pastry is puffed and golden brown, and the brie is melted and bubbly.
  6. Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes. Drizzle with honey if desired, garnish with fresh herbs, then slice and serve warm.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste. For a savory twist, add a sprinkle of black pepper or a pinch of thyme before baking.
