Description

A festive, easy-to-make appetizer featuring buttery puff pastry topped with creamy brie, sweet-tart cranberries, and crunchy walnuts.


Ingredients

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 8 oz brie cheese, rind removed and cut into small pieces
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, roughly chopped and toasted
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Fresh thyme leaves for garnish (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheet on the prepared baking sheet. Use a fork to lightly prick the surface all over to prevent puffing.
  3. Arrange the brie pieces evenly over the pastry, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges. Sprinkle with cranberries and toasted walnuts. Drizzle with honey and season lightly with salt and pepper.
  4. Fold the edges of the pastry inward to create a rustic border. Brush the edges with the beaten egg wash.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the pastry is golden brown and puffed. Let cool for 5 minutes, then garnish with thyme if desired. Slice and serve warm.
