Description
A festive, easy-to-make appetizer featuring buttery puff pastry topped with creamy brie, sweet-tart cranberries, and crunchy walnuts.
Ingredients
- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 8 oz brie cheese, rind removed and cut into small pieces
- 1/2 cup dried cranberries
- 1/2 cup walnuts, roughly chopped and toasted
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Fresh thyme leaves for garnish (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the puff pastry sheet on the prepared baking sheet. Use a fork to lightly prick the surface all over to prevent puffing.
- Arrange the brie pieces evenly over the pastry, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges. Sprinkle with cranberries and toasted walnuts. Drizzle with honey and season lightly with salt and pepper.
- Fold the edges of the pastry inward to create a rustic border. Brush the edges with the beaten egg wash.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the pastry is golden brown and puffed. Let cool for 5 minutes, then garnish with thyme if desired. Slice and serve warm.
