Description
A delightful appetizer featuring buttery puff pastry topped with creamy brie, tart cranberries, and crunchy toasted walnuts. Perfect for holiday gatherings or a cozy snack.
Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 8 oz brie cheese, sliced
- 1/2 cup dried cranberries
- 1/2 cup walnuts, toasted and chopped
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional, for drizzling)
- Fresh thyme leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface to smooth out creases. Transfer to the prepared baking sheet.
- Using a sharp knife, score a border about 1 inch from the edges, being careful not to cut all the way through. Prick the inside of the pastry with a fork.
- Arrange the brie slices evenly over the pastry inside the border. Sprinkle with dried cranberries and toasted walnuts.
- Brush the border with the beaten egg wash.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes. Drizzle with honey and garnish with fresh thyme leaves before slicing and serving.
Notes
You can customize the seasonings to taste. For a savory twist, add a sprinkle of black pepper or rosemary.
