A rich, creamy, and totally irresistible dessert with a chocolatey base and a gooey pecan topping that melts in your mouth.
Ingredients
- 1 box chocolate cake mix
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 pound powdered sugar
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a bowl, mix chocolate cake mix, melted butter, 1 egg, and vanilla until combined. Press evenly into the bottom of the prepared dish.
- In another bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Add remaining 2 eggs, powdered sugar, and cocoa powder, mixing until creamy. Stir in chopped pecans.
- Pour cream cheese mixture over the cake layer, spreading evenly. Bake for 40-45 minutes until set but still slightly jiggly in the center.
- Let cool completely before slicing. Serve at room temperature or chilled.
