Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 medium apples, peeled and diced
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch square baking pan.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter and granulated sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in sour cream and vanilla.
- In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and baking soda. Gradually mix into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in diced apples, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Spread batter evenly into the prepared pan.
- In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and pecans. Sprinkle evenly over the batter.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool before serving.
