Ingredients
- 1 baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch rounds
- 3 tablespoons olive oil, divided
- 8 oz brie cheese, rind removed, at room temperature
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1 pint fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, plus more for garnish
- 3 tablespoons hot honey
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, thinly sliced
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet, brush with 2 tablespoons olive oil, and toast for 8-10 minutes until golden and crispy. Set aside.
- In a small bowl, combine brie and heavy cream. Using a hand mixer or whisk, whip until smooth and fluffy. Set aside.
- In a separate baking dish, toss strawberries with remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil, balsamic vinegar, honey, and salt. Roast for 15-20 minutes until softened and juicy, stirring once halfway.
- Spread a generous amount of whipped brie on each crostini. Top with roasted strawberries and their juices.
- In a small bowl, mix hot honey with sliced basil. Drizzle the mixture over the crostini.
- Sprinkle with freshly ground black pepper and serve immediately.
Notes
You can customize the seasonings to taste. For a milder basil flavor, add it just before serving. If you prefer a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the hot honey drizzle.
