Description
A delightful flatbread featuring creamy brie, tart cranberries, and crunchy walnuts, all finished with a spicy-sweet hot honey drizzle. Perfect for a festive appetizer or a light meal.
Ingredients
- 1 pre-made flatbread or pizza crust
- 1/2 cup cranberry sauce (or whole berry cranberry sauce), slightly warmed
- 4 ounces brie cheese, sliced or torn into pieces
- 1/3 cup walnuts, toasted and roughly chopped
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (or to taste)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Fresh thyme or rosemary (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the flatbread on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Spread the warmed cranberry sauce evenly over the flatbread, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Arrange the brie pieces over the cranberry sauce. Sprinkle the toasted walnuts on top.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the brie is melted and bubbly and the edges of the flatbread are golden and crisp.
- While the flatbread bakes, prepare the hot honey: in a small bowl, stir together the honey and red pepper flakes (adjust amount to desired heat).
- Remove the flatbread from the oven. Drizzle generously with the hot honey. Garnish with fresh thyme or rosemary if desired. Slice and serve warm.
Notes
You can customize the seasonings to taste. For a milder heat, use fewer red pepper flakes or omit entirely. Add some fresh arugula after baking for a peppery contrast.
