Description
A delicious twist on traditional stuffing, these savory turkey and cranberry balls are baked to golden perfection. Perfect as a side dish for Thanksgiving or as a hearty appetizer.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 2 cups bread stuffing mix
- 1/2 cup dried cranberries
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1/4 cup finely chopped celery
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried sage
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking sheet or line with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, stuffing mix, dried cranberries, beaten egg, onion, celery, garlic, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix gently but thoroughly.
- Pour chicken broth over the mixture and stir until well combined. Let sit for 5 minutes to allow the stuffing to absorb the liquid.
- Shape the mixture into 12 equal balls, about 1.5 inches in diameter.
- Place the balls on the prepared baking sheet. Brush each ball lightly with olive oil.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the balls are golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature reaches 165°F).
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm.
Notes
You can customize the seasonings to taste. For a richer flavor, use sausage instead of ground turkey or add a tablespoon of melted butter to the mixture.
