A decadent dessert featuring a buttery cake base topped with a rich, gooey chocolate-pecan layer, perfect for satisfying sweet cravings.
Ingredients
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3 large eggs
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 4 cups powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a bowl, mix cake mix, melted butter, and 1 egg until combined. Press into the bottom of the prepared dish.
- In another bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Add remaining 2 eggs, cocoa powder, vanilla, and powdered sugar, mixing until creamy. Stir in pecans.
- Pour the chocolate-pecan mixture over the cake base and spread evenly.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes until set but still slightly gooey in the center. Cool before serving.
