Description

A delightful appetizer or snack featuring buttery puff pastry topped with creamy brie, sweet-tart cranberries, and crunchy toasted walnuts. Perfect for holiday gatherings or a cozy night in.


Ingredients

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 6 ounces brie cheese, sliced into 1/4-inch pieces
  • 1/3 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/3 cup walnut halves, toasted and roughly chopped
  • 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional, for drizzling)
  • Fresh thyme leaves for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, unfold the puff pastry sheet and gently roll it out to a 10×10-inch square. Cut into 4 equal squares.
  3. Place the pastry squares on the prepared baking sheet. Using a sharp knife, score a 1/2-inch border around each square without cutting all the way through.
  4. Divide the brie slices evenly among the squares, placing them inside the scored border.
  5. Top the brie with dried cranberries and toasted walnuts.
  6. Brush the edges of the pastry with the beaten egg wash.
  7. Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown and the brie is melted.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes. If desired, drizzle with honey and garnish with fresh thyme before serving.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste. For a savory twist, add a sprinkle of black pepper or a pinch of sea salt before baking.
