Description
A delightful appetizer or snack featuring buttery puff pastry topped with creamy brie, sweet-tart cranberries, and crunchy toasted walnuts. Perfect for holiday gatherings or a cozy night in.
Ingredients
- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 6 ounces brie cheese, sliced into 1/4-inch pieces
- 1/3 cup dried cranberries
- 1/3 cup walnut halves, toasted and roughly chopped
- 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional, for drizzling)
- Fresh thyme leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- On a lightly floured surface, unfold the puff pastry sheet and gently roll it out to a 10×10-inch square. Cut into 4 equal squares.
- Place the pastry squares on the prepared baking sheet. Using a sharp knife, score a 1/2-inch border around each square without cutting all the way through.
- Divide the brie slices evenly among the squares, placing them inside the scored border.
- Top the brie with dried cranberries and toasted walnuts.
- Brush the edges of the pastry with the beaten egg wash.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown and the brie is melted.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes. If desired, drizzle with honey and garnish with fresh thyme before serving.
Notes
You can customize the seasonings to taste. For a savory twist, add a sprinkle of black pepper or a pinch of sea salt before baking.
