A rustic, savory-sweet galette featuring creamy Brie, tart cranberries, and crunchy toasted walnuts, all drizzled with spicy hot honey. Perfect as an appetizer or light main course.
Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1/4 cup ice water
- 8 ounces Brie, sliced
- 1 cup fresh cranberries
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts, toasted
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add ice water, stirring until dough forms. Shape into a disk, wrap in plastic, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out dough to a 12-inch circle. Transfer to prepared baking sheet.
- Arrange Brie slices in the center of the dough, leaving a 2-inch border. Top with cranberries and toasted walnuts. Fold the edges of the dough over the filling, pleating as needed. Brush crust with beaten egg.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, until crust is golden and filling is bubbly. While galette bakes, warm honey and red pepper flakes in a small saucepan over low heat until infused. Drizzle hot honey over the galette before serving.
