Description
A delightful appetizer featuring creamy baked brie, sweet blackberry jam, spicy hot honey, and a crunchy pistachio crust, topped with fresh pomegranate seeds for a burst of flavor.
Ingredients
- 1 (8 oz) wheel of brie cheese, chilled
- 1/2 cup shelled pistachios, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup blackberry jam
- 2 tablespoons hot honey
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup pomegranate seeds
- Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
- Crackers or sliced baguette for serving
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a small baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cut the chilled brie into 1-inch cubes. In a shallow bowl, mix the chopped pistachios with a pinch of salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together the blackberry jam, hot honey, and red pepper flakes (if using). Set aside.
- Set up a breading station: bowl 1 with flour, bowl 2 with beaten egg, bowl 3 with pistachio mixture.
- Coat each brie cube first in flour (shake off excess), then dip in egg, then roll in pistachios to coat evenly. Place coated bites on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes until the brie is warm and slightly melted but still holds its shape.
- Transfer the baked brie bites to a serving plate. Drizzle generously with the blackberry hot honey mixture.
- Sprinkle with pomegranate seeds and garnish with mint leaves. Serve immediately with crackers or baguette slices.
Notes
You can customize the seasonings to taste. For extra heat, add more red pepper flakes. If you prefer a sweeter dish, use regular honey instead of hot honey.
