Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce, for drizzling
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the mashed bananas, buttermilk, and vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Fold in the chopped pecans.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Drizzle with caramel sauce before serving.
