A refreshing twist on the classic Caprese salad, featuring ripe strawberries, fresh mozzarella, basil, and a tangy balsamic glaze.
Ingredients
- 1 pint fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 8 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, torn
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the balsamic glaze: In a small saucepan, combine balsamic vinegar and honey. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, then reduce heat to low and cook until slightly thickened, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.
- Arrange sliced strawberries and mozzarella on a serving platter, alternating them.
- Scatter torn basil leaves over the top.
- Drizzle with olive oil and the prepared balsamic glaze.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately.
