Description

A refreshing twist on the classic Caprese salad, featuring ripe strawberries, fresh mozzarella, basil, and a tangy balsamic glaze.


Ingredients

  • 1 pint fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 8 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, torn
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Prepare the balsamic glaze: In a small saucepan, combine balsamic vinegar and honey. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, then reduce heat to low and cook until slightly thickened, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.
  2. Arrange sliced strawberries and mozzarella on a serving platter, alternating them.
  3. Scatter torn basil leaves over the top.
  4. Drizzle with olive oil and the prepared balsamic glaze.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately.
