Description
A elegant and simple dessert featuring tender baked pears topped with a mix of berries, drizzled with honey, and finished with crunchy walnuts and tangy blue cheese. Perfect for a cozy evening or special occasion.
Ingredients
- 4 ripe but firm pears (such as Bosc or Bartlett), halved and cored
- 1 cup mixed berries (fresh or frozen, such as raspberries, blueberries, blackberries)
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- Pinch of salt
- Optional: fresh mint leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
- In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Brush this mixture over the cut sides of the pear halves.
- Place the pear halves cut side up in the prepared baking dish. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the pears are tender when pierced with a fork.
- While the pears bake, prepare the topping: in a small bowl, combine the mixed berries and honey. Set aside.
- Remove the pears from the oven. Spoon the berry-honey mixture over the pears, then sprinkle with chopped walnuts and crumbled blue cheese.
- Return the dish to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, until the cheese is slightly melted and the berries are warm.
- Remove from oven and let cool slightly. Garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired. Serve warm.
