Description
A light and flavorful baked cod fillet infused with lemon and garlic, topped with a rich butter sauce for a simple yet elegant meal.
Ingredients
- 4 cod fillets (about 6 oz each)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lemon, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 cup white wine (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Pat cod fillets dry and place in a baking dish.
- In a small bowl, mix melted butter, olive oil, minced garlic, oregano, paprika, salt, and pepper. Pour over cod, coating evenly.
- Arrange lemon slices on top of the fillets. Bake for 15-20 minutes until fish flakes easily with a fork.
- Remove from oven. If using, pour white wine into the dish and baste fish with the sauce. Garnish with parsley and serve warm.
