Description
Flaky puff pastry turnovers filled with a creamy cheesecake mixture and sweet strawberry jam, baked until golden and dusted with powdered sugar for a delightful dessert.
Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup strawberry jam
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Unfold puff pastry and cut into 4 equal squares.
- Spread 1 tbsp cream cheese mixture on half of each square, top with 1 tsp strawberry jam. Fold pastry over filling to form triangles, press edges with a fork to seal.
- Brush turnovers with beaten egg wash. Bake for 15-18 minutes until puffed and golden. Let cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
