Pan-seared scallops with a crispy golden crust, served with a bright, tangy lime-cilantro sauce for a refreshing and elegant dish.
Ingredients
- 1 lb large sea scallops, patted dry
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 2 tbsp fresh lime juice
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp honey or agave
- Pinch of red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Pat scallops dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add scallops in a single layer, searing for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from heat.
- In a small bowl, whisk together lime juice, minced garlic, extra virgin olive oil, honey, cilantro, and red pepper flakes to make the sauce.
- Drizzle the zesty lime cilantro sauce over the seared scallops just before serving.
- Garnish with additional cilantro and serve immediately.
