Description

Pan-seared scallops with a crispy golden crust, served with a bright, tangy lime-cilantro sauce for a refreshing and elegant dish.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb large sea scallops, patted dry
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 2 tbsp fresh lime juice
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp honey or agave
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes


Instructions

  1. Pat scallops dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add scallops in a single layer, searing for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from heat.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together lime juice, minced garlic, extra virgin olive oil, honey, cilantro, and red pepper flakes to make the sauce.
  4. Drizzle the zesty lime cilantro sauce over the seared scallops just before serving.
  5. Garnish with additional cilantro and serve immediately.
