Perfectly seared scallops served with a bright, tangy lime and cilantro sauce that brings a burst of freshness to every bite.
Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh sea scallops, patted dry
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together lime juice, cilantro, garlic, honey, 1/4 cup olive oil, and red pepper flakes (if using) to make the sauce. Set aside.
- Season scallops generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.
- Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Add scallops in a single layer, searing for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
- Transfer scallops to a serving plate and drizzle generously with the zesty lime cilantro sauce. Serve immediately.
