Description
A sophisticated and easy-to-make appetizer featuring warm, gooey brie, a sweet and tangy cranberry-pomegranate glaze, and a crunchy walnut topping.
Ingredients
- 1 (8-ounce) wheel of brie cheese
- 1/2 cup whole berry cranberry sauce
- 2 tablespoons pomegranate juice
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
- Crackers or baguette slices, for serving
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Place the brie wheel on a parchment-lined baking sheet or in a small oven-safe dish.
- In a small saucepan, combine the cranberry sauce, pomegranate juice, honey, and cinnamon. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally, for 3-5 minutes, or until slightly thickened.
- Bake the brie for 15-20 minutes, or until soft and gooey in the center. The rind may split open slightly.
- While the brie is baking, lightly toast the chopped walnuts in a dry skillet over medium heat for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly, until fragrant. Be careful not to burn them.
- Once the brie is baked, carefully transfer it to a serving platter.
- Spoon the warm cranberry-pomegranate glaze over the top of the brie.
- Sprinkle the toasted walnuts over the glaze.
- Serve immediately with crackers or baguette slices for dipping.
Notes
You can customize the seasonings to taste. For a spicier kick, add a pinch of ground ginger to the glaze. For an extra touch of sweetness, drizzle additional honey over the baked brie.
