Description

A sophisticated and easy-to-make appetizer featuring warm, gooey brie, a sweet and tangy cranberry-pomegranate glaze, and a crunchy walnut topping.

Ingredients

  • 1 (8-ounce) wheel of brie cheese
  • 1/2 cup whole berry cranberry sauce
  • 2 tablespoons pomegranate juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • Crackers or baguette slices, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Place the brie wheel on a parchment-lined baking sheet or in a small oven-safe dish.
  3. In a small saucepan, combine the cranberry sauce, pomegranate juice, honey, and cinnamon. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally, for 3-5 minutes, or until slightly thickened.
  4. Bake the brie for 15-20 minutes, or until soft and gooey in the center. The rind may split open slightly.
  5. While the brie is baking, lightly toast the chopped walnuts in a dry skillet over medium heat for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly, until fragrant. Be careful not to burn them.
  6. Once the brie is baked, carefully transfer it to a serving platter.
  7. Spoon the warm cranberry-pomegranate glaze over the top of the brie.
  8. Sprinkle the toasted walnuts over the glaze.
  9. Serve immediately with crackers or baguette slices for dipping.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste. For a spicier kick, add a pinch of ground ginger to the glaze. For an extra touch of sweetness, drizzle additional honey over the baked brie.
