A flavorful and quick meal featuring spiced ground beef, fresh vegetables, and creamy whipped feta, all wrapped in warm pita bread for a Mediterranean-inspired lunch or dinner.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 large pita bread rounds
- 1 cup crumbled feta cheese
- 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 cup diced cucumber
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup sliced red onion
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine feta cheese and Greek yogurt; blend with a hand mixer or food processor until smooth and creamy. Set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef, oregano, cumin, paprika, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Cook until browned and crumbled, about 8-10 minutes.
- Warm the pita bread in a dry skillet or microwave for 30 seconds until pliable.
- Spread a generous layer of whipped feta onto each pita. Top with cooked ground beef, cucumber, tomatoes, red onion, and parsley.
- Fold or roll the pita into a wrap and serve immediately.
