Description
A festive, elegant appetizer featuring buttery puff pastry topped with creamy brie, tart cranberry sauce, and crunchy toasted walnuts.
Ingredients
- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 8 oz brie cheese, rind removed and sliced
- 1/2 cup cranberry sauce (canned or homemade)
- 1/2 cup walnuts, roughly chopped and toasted
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves (optional)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unfold the puff pastry sheet on the prepared baking sheet. Lightly score a 1-inch border around the edges without cutting all the way through.
- Brush the border with the beaten egg wash. Arrange the brie slices evenly inside the border, then spoon cranberry sauce over the brie.
- Sprinkle toasted walnuts and thyme (if using) on top. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the pastry is golden brown and puffed. Let cool for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
