Description

A festive, elegant appetizer featuring buttery puff pastry topped with creamy brie, tart cranberry sauce, and crunchy toasted walnuts.


Ingredients

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 8 oz brie cheese, rind removed and sliced
  • 1/2 cup cranberry sauce (canned or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, roughly chopped and toasted
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unfold the puff pastry sheet on the prepared baking sheet. Lightly score a 1-inch border around the edges without cutting all the way through.
  3. Brush the border with the beaten egg wash. Arrange the brie slices evenly inside the border, then spoon cranberry sauce over the brie.
  4. Sprinkle toasted walnuts and thyme (if using) on top. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the pastry is golden brown and puffed. Let cool for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
