Description

A festive and elegant appetizer featuring buttery puff pastry topped with creamy brie, tart cranberries, and crunchy walnuts, baked until golden and flaky.


Ingredients

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 8 oz brie cheese, rind removed and sliced
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, toasted and roughly chopped
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Fresh thyme leaves for garnish (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface to smooth any seams. Place on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Arrange the brie slices evenly over the puff pastry, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges. Sprinkle cranberries and walnuts on top. Drizzle with honey and season lightly with salt and pepper.
  4. Fold the edges of the pastry inward to create a rustic border. Brush the edges with the beaten egg wash.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the pastry is puffed and golden brown. Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes.
  6. Garnish with fresh thyme if desired. Slice into squares and serve warm.
