Description

A sweet and savory appetizer featuring creamy feta wrapped in crispy phyllo, drizzled with honey, and topped with crunchy pistachios.


Ingredients

  • 8 sheets of phyllo dough, thawed
  • 1 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1/4 cup honey, plus extra for drizzling
  • 1/2 cup shelled pistachios, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Olive oil for brushing


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Lay one phyllo sheet on a clean surface, brush lightly with melted butter, and sprinkle with a pinch of chopped pistachios. Repeat with a second sheet on top.
  3. Spread 2 tablespoons of feta along one short edge of the phyllo, drizzle with a teaspoon of honey, and sprinkle with oregano and pepper.
  4. Roll the phyllo tightly around the filling, folding in the sides as you go, to form a log. Place seam-side down on the baking sheet. Repeat with remaining ingredients to make 4 rolls.
  5. Brush rolls lightly with olive oil and bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden and crispy.
  6. Remove from oven, drizzle generously with honey, and sprinkle with remaining pistachios. Serve warm.
