Description
A sweet and savory appetizer featuring creamy feta wrapped in crispy phyllo, drizzled with honey, and topped with crunchy pistachios.
Ingredients
- 8 sheets of phyllo dough, thawed
- 1 cup crumbled feta cheese
- 1/4 cup honey, plus extra for drizzling
- 1/2 cup shelled pistachios, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Olive oil for brushing
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Lay one phyllo sheet on a clean surface, brush lightly with melted butter, and sprinkle with a pinch of chopped pistachios. Repeat with a second sheet on top.
- Spread 2 tablespoons of feta along one short edge of the phyllo, drizzle with a teaspoon of honey, and sprinkle with oregano and pepper.
- Roll the phyllo tightly around the filling, folding in the sides as you go, to form a log. Place seam-side down on the baking sheet. Repeat with remaining ingredients to make 4 rolls.
- Brush rolls lightly with olive oil and bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden and crispy.
- Remove from oven, drizzle generously with honey, and sprinkle with remaining pistachios. Serve warm.
