Description

A sweet and savory dessert or appetizer featuring tender baked pears topped with tart cranberries, crunchy walnuts, and creamy blue cheese, all drizzled with honey.

Ingredients

  • 4 ripe but firm pears, halved and cored
  • 1/2 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1/4 cup honey, plus extra for drizzling
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 cup crumbled blue cheese
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish lightly with butter or cooking spray.
  2. Arrange the pear halves cut-side up in the baking dish. In a small bowl, mix melted butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Brush this mixture over the pears.
  3. Sprinkle cranberries and walnuts evenly over the pears. Drizzle with 1/4 cup of honey.
  4. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until pears are tender and cranberries have softened. Remove from oven and let cool slightly.
  5. Top each pear half with crumbled blue cheese and an additional drizzle of honey before serving warm.
