A sweet and savory dessert or appetizer featuring tender baked pears topped with tart cranberries, crunchy walnuts, and creamy blue cheese, all drizzled with honey.
Ingredients
- 4 ripe but firm pears, halved and cored
- 1/2 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
- 1/4 cup honey, plus extra for drizzling
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/4 cup crumbled blue cheese
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish lightly with butter or cooking spray.
- Arrange the pear halves cut-side up in the baking dish. In a small bowl, mix melted butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Brush this mixture over the pears.
- Sprinkle cranberries and walnuts evenly over the pears. Drizzle with 1/4 cup of honey.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, until pears are tender and cranberries have softened. Remove from oven and let cool slightly.
- Top each pear half with crumbled blue cheese and an additional drizzle of honey before serving warm.
